Friday Night Footlights is a play reading series. Every First Friday of every month, ITC hosts a reader's theatre performance of a script - be it published, unpublished, new, classic or musical - and then opens the floor for a talkback session with the cast and creative collaborators. All performances and talkbacks are webcast live. Of all scripts in the series, those of the "new and unpublished" status get the most attention. ITC uses the FNF series as a development process, with the hope of selecting future shows.
StoFest is a new, one-act play festival featuring WV playwrights. In April 2009, ITC revived three plays by Wheeling, WV playwright, T.S. Stobart, to great success and enthusiastic audiences. Due to the response and our admiration for his work, we felt it was time to honor Sto’s contribution to Wheeling's theatre history. In its first year, StoFest produced fifteen plays by ten different writers, featuring well over twenty local performers.
Shake on the 'Front. We call it fast, physical and sexy Shakespeare . . . on the water. The premise of each Shake on the 'Front event is to perform a Shakespearean classic in an hour or less. ITC believes that art can and should be created everywhere, by anyone; especially in non-traditional ways. Which is exactly why we've been known to cast a few Sot'F roles directly from the audience. C'mon, what better way to experience Shakespeare than in tiny, easily digested bits on a summer's eve, out of doors? |
